Not only will you save money but for every watt less you consume that's a little less coal, oil or gas the utility company doesn't burn. That reduces the amount of CO2 (greenhouse gas) put into the atmosphere.

Very simple.Lets say you have refrigerator (or any appliance that uses energy) and it takes $1 a day to run it. If you go shopping for a new 'energy efficient' model, of the same size, and it only takes $0.50 a day to run it you'll be saving $15 per month on your electric bill!

right...less energy menas less coal - for sure - and it is the biggest problem - by far!and yes energy efficient applinaces are much better than older versions that use more energy to operate...but the best way to save energy (for startes) is look for things around your house - like if the ac is on - don't have the doors or windows open...use the washer/dryer at night - not during the day, keep vents clean..don't leave the massive tv on when no one is there! on and on - there are a ton of things you can do - easy - free - that matter...
